Wrath of Khan (STXI version)

Posted in Uncategorized on September 19, 2009 by Zappa

STXI has made a big impact on my life. Yep, the new Enterprise and everything just made me go, “Hmm….that means the rest of these movies in the new timeline took place a little differently. Or, at least, they looked differently at the very least in the new timeline….” So, I took liberty to take one of my favorite classic Trek films and combined it with the new looks of the new Trek timeline that was created and voila! My own version of one of the most popular confrontations in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. With new techniques I’ve learned from Bridge Commander, I should be able to edit this and closely resemble how things went in the original movie. Though, first I am going to start off with a little intro, with the Enterprise going to warp, kinda like in the 2009 film where she was proudly leaving spacedock to go to Vulcan, but instead, I am implying that she is going somewhere else. Of course, I’m still trying to go with authentic shots from ST II, however, giving it this little intro is going to resemble how the new timeline acts. Well, I don’t know how to explain that well, so…. and a video actually explains more than 1000 pictures and more than a million words that would summarize the whole thing. So, I’ll post the video when I can, but just saying, I am working on this new project. I don’t expect I’ll be able to do anything internet wise in a week or so, so the video itself might get up late. Anyways, heh. Later, peeps.

Star Trek Bridge Commander

Posted in Uncategorized on September 14, 2009 by Zappa

Well, I moved my BC install over to the gaming computer. This is mainly for better performance when I want to film something. I’m also getting some awesome mods and ships for it so I can make awesome videos. There was a nice STXI mod I found which includes all the Star Trek 2009 ships that were released. I also managed to finally figure out the camera work needed to make machinimas in ST: Bridge Commander. Hell, if I am lucky, maybe when I am moved up north, I might get into doing a Star Trek fan film using ST: BC for virtual sets. This will be so awesome once I get everything installed in order to make, hopefully breathtaking machinimas from ST: BC footage. With my color correction in combination with better camera angles and shots, I bet I can make something really awesome.

Maybe I can make a Star Trek ’09 version of the Wrath of Khan. Now THAT would be interesting. Now, I will finish this post with a few quotes from one of my favorite Star Trek antagonists.

Khan:  Surely, I have made my meaning plain. I mean to avenge myself upon you, Admiral. I deprived your ship of power, and when I swing around, I mean to deprive you of your life.

Khan: Of course! We are one big, happy fleet! Ah, Kirk, my old friend, do you know the Klingon proverb that tells us revenge is a dish that is best served cold?
[pause]
Khan: It is very cold in space!

I proudly give you my tribute to the U.S.S. Kelvin, Starfleet Designation NCC-0514. For those who have seen Star Trek should know what purpose this ship served under the Federation. Well, here you go.

UT2004 vid. Extreme Gore. Manually placed in sounds for this one, though. Reasons being, I thought I’d give it a go. Something different, if you know what I mean.

JA Map: Inferno (1.0)

Posted in Uncategorized on April 19, 2009 by Zappa

The map is big, I’ll just say this for starters. It’s not huge, and it’s not BIG, but it’s fairly large sized. Its actual size, however, is completely dwarfed by what the map feels like. The distant buildings, the skybox, the smoke, and the misty clouds and black smoke passing overhead all make this map seem like it’s just a small part of a behemoth industrial complex; in a way the gigantic structures and the ominous setting make it feel like the Citadel from Half-Life 2. I love it. My only complaint is that you couldn’t go in any doors; it really was kind of a let down. This map would be twice as valuable to roleplayers as well as clans if there were just some rooms and hallways to go around in, plus it would make the map feel even bigger than it already feels.

Good looking map that should be downloaded.
